POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Clinical Interviewer is responsible for the day-to-day functioning of research projects conducted by the PI and/or co-supervisors. The hours will require some flexibility, as there will be some early evening shifts. The Interviewer must be able to travel reliably to clinics throughout the Bronx.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and enroll patients in on-going research projects
  • Maintain a complete electronic log of all contacts with patients
  • Maintain an adequate number of recruited and enrolled subjects that is specified by each project
  • Ensure that research protocols are followed
  • Administer questionnaires and scales to patients
  • Complete Data Collection Instruments (DCI's) and enter data into the computer
  • Prepare metric reports
  • Participate in discussions regarding at regularly scheduled research meetings
  • Perform other related duties as assigned



Job Requirements



  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. High School Diploma and 6 months - 1 year of clerical experience is required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is required in order to communicate effectively with patients.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Working knowledge of Word, Access and Excel is helpful, as the Interviewer must accurately enter data into computer database programs
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. S/he must be able to communicate with patients in a manner which demonstrates understanding of the patient's developmental and anxiety level.
  • The Interviewer should be able to take direction, ask questions appropriately and work independently
