Research Manager

Job Description

This position serves as the primary financial administrator of research and other externally funded projects in the School of Social Work.

As the Research Manager the incumbent will act as the primary liaison as it pertains to the financial management of research and externally funded projects.

The individual in this position will provide insight and guidance as it relates to budgetary development, management, and reconciliation of research and externally funded project accounts. This includes designing, preparing, and presenting all financial and budgetary analysis, projections, forecasts, and reports representing both the retrospective and prospective experience of the School as it relates to research and externally funded projects.

The incumbent will be responsible for the comprehensive coordination of effort reporting, and compliance reporting.
The incumbent will regularly and actively collaborate with the Director of Administration and the Financial Manager to integrate the past, current, and anticipated performance of research and other externally funded projects into the overall financial management of the School.

Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in fiscal management, grant management, federal regulations, compliance, and budgetary/accounting practices required. Must demonstrate strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Experience with University policies and procedures strongly preferred.
