The Communication Science and Disorders Department at the University of Pittsburgh invite applications for a highly motivated Research Scientist to join an interdisciplinary project that will include in vivo imaging and translational research in a small animal model.


Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to take a leadership role in an ongoing research collaboration between Dr. Bernard Rousseau’s group at the University of Pittsburgh and Dr. Haoxiang Luo’s group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Vanderbilt University.This interdisciplinary project aims to use computational modelling to customize vocal fold implants for optimal patient outcomes in type I laryngoplasty.






The successful candidate will have experience in in vivo imaging, small animal surgery, and routine laboratory techniques. Additional responsibilities will include planning, designing, implementing, and problem-solving research projects, and contributing to peer-reviewed publications and research dissemination.This individual will also receive mentorship to develop personal research aligned with the broad goals of our laboratory, and participation in career development activities will be highly encouraged.
